GetMeATaxi is an airport transfer quote platform operated by David Wares ("we", "us", "our"). Our website is www.getmeataxi.uk.

For the purposes of UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, we are the data controller for personal data collected through this website.

2. What Data We Collect

When you submit a quote request through our website form, we collect the following personal data:

  • Your full name
  • Your email address
  • Your mobile phone number
  • Your pick-up location and destination
  • Your travel date, time, and passenger numbers
  • Your flight number (where provided)
  • Any additional notes you choose to include

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your personal data for the following purposes:

  • To process your airport transfer quote request
  • To contact you by email and SMS to confirm receipt of your request and provide quotes
  • To share your journey details (excluding contact information) with local taxi operators so they can provide quotes
  • To confirm your booking and connect you with your chosen operator
  • To maintain records of transactions for accounting and VAT purposes

We do not use your data for marketing purposes without your explicit consent.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your personal data on the following legal bases under UK GDPR:

  • Contract performance: processing is necessary to fulfil the quote and booking service you have requested
  • Legitimate interests: maintaining transaction records and preventing fraud
  • Legal obligation: retaining financial records as required by HMRC

5. Who We Share Your Data With

We share limited personal data with the following third-party service providers who act as data processors on our behalf:

  • Airtable (Formagrid Inc.) — stores booking records and operator information. Data stored in the US under Standard Contractual Clauses.
  • Make.com (Celonis SE) — automation platform that processes form submissions and manages communications. Data processed in the EU.
  • Vonage (Ericsson) — SMS delivery provider used to send booking notifications and confirmations.
  • Microsoft (Outlook/Microsoft 365) — email platform used for booking communications.
  • Google (Google Analytics 4) — website analytics. See Section 8 for details.

We share your journey details (but not your contact information) with local taxi operators for the purpose of obtaining quotes. Your name and contact details are only shared with your chosen operator once you confirm a booking.

We do not sell your personal data to any third party.

6. How Long We Keep Your Data

  • Booking records(name, journey details, fare): 6 years from the date of the transaction, in compliance with HMRC requirements for VAT and financial records
  • Unbooked quote requests: deleted or anonymised after 90 days
  • Email communications: retained for 12 months then deleted

7. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the following rights in relation to your personal data:

  • Right of access — you can request a copy of the data we hold about you
  • Right to rectification — you can ask us to correct inaccurate data
  • Right to erasure — you can ask us to delete your data, subject to legal retention obligations
  • Right to restriction — you can ask us to limit how we use your data
  • Right to data portability — you can request your data in a machine-readable format
  • Right to object — you can object to processing based on legitimate interests

Our website uses the following cookies:

  • Essential cookies: set by the Duda platform for core site functionality.
  • Analytics cookies: we use Google Analytics 4 (GA4), which sets first-party cookies (_ga and _ga_[container-id]) to distinguish unique visitors and track session data. These cookies have a default expiry of 2 years. No IP addresses are stored. Data is processed by Google in accordance with their privacy policy.

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure. All data transmissions are encrypted via HTTPS. Access to booking records in Airtable is restricted to authorised personnel only.
