1. About GetMeATaxi

GetMeATaxi ("we", "us", "the platform") is a quote comparison and booking facilitation service for airport transfers, operated by David Wares. We connect passengers with local licensed taxi and private hire operators. We are not a taxi operator and do not directly provide transport services.

2. How the Service Works

When you submit a quote request:

  • We forward your journey details to local licensed operators in our network
  • Operators respond with their quoted fare, typically within 2 hours during operating hours (8am–8pm). Requests submitted outside these hours will receive quotes by 10am the following morning.
  • We present all quotes to you for comparison. Operators are not identified at this stage.
  • When you select a preferred quote, we confirm the booking and share the operator's contact details with you.
  • The operator is your point of contact for all journey queries from that point.

3. No Obligation

Submitting a quote request does not oblige you to accept any quote. The service is free to use for passengers. You may decline all quotes without charge.

4. Operator Standards

All operators in our network are required to hold valid UK taxi or private hire operator licences and appropriate insurance. However, GetMeATaxi does not independently verify operator licences on an ongoing basis and cannot guarantee operator availability or conduct. Passengers should satisfy themselves as to the credentials of their chosen operator.

5. Booking Confirmation

A booking is confirmed when you select a quoted fare and we notify both you and the operator. At this point, you enter into a direct contract with the operator for the provision of transport services. GetMeATaxi is not a party to that contract.

6. Cancellations

Cancellation terms are agreed directly between you and the operator. GetMeATaxi does not have a standard cancellation policy. We recommend confirming the operator's cancellation terms before finalising your booking.

7. Pricing and Commission

Quoted fares are set by operators and are inclusive of all charges. GetMeATaxi charges operators a commission on completed bookings. This commission is not added to the fare you are quoted — the price you see is the price you pay.

Commission rates are: 10% of the fare from launch to 31 December 2026, rising to 12% (VAT-inclusive) from 1 January 2027.

8. Limitation of Liability

GetMeATaxi acts as an introduction and quote comparison service only. We are not liable for:

  • The conduct, performance, or reliability of any operator
  • Journey delays, cancellations, or failures by operators
  • Loss or damage to property during transit
  • Any indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the platform

Our total liability to you in connection with the platform shall not exceed the commission earned on the relevant booking.

9. Accuracy of Information

Journey times and distances displayed on our website are approximate and provided for guidance only. Actual journey times will vary with traffic and conditions.

10. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the platform to submit false or fraudulent quote requests, to harvest operator contact details, or for any purpose other than obtaining genuine airport transfer quotes.

11. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Scotland. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions at any time. The current version will be published on our website. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
